Winter often leaves our skin feeling dry, rough, and lifeless. While store-bought lotions help, using a moisturizing, chemical-free soap from the very start of your skincare routine can make a world of difference. Today, we are sharing a simple way to make a nourishing homemade soap using natural ingredients like aloe vera and coconut oil that will keep your skin glowing and soft all season long.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Extract the fresh gel from the aloe vera strips and blend or crush it into a smooth pulp.
- In a bowl, mix the aloe vera pulp with 2 tablespoons of glycerin and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil until well combined.
- Prick the Vitamin E capsules and squeeze the oil into the mixture, stirring well to ensure it is evenly distributed.
- Cut the soap base into small cubes and melt it using a double boiler method (place the base in a bowl over boiling water) until it becomes a clear liquid.
- Once the soap base is completely melted, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Slowly stir the aloe vera, glycerin, and oil mixture into the melted soap base.
- If using rose petals, add them to the mixture now for a natural scent and aesthetic look.
- Pour the final mixture into soap molds.
- Allow the soap to set at room temperature for about 5 hours, or place it in the refrigerator for faster setting.
- Once fully hardened, carefully remove the soap from the molds and it is ready for use!
Using this natural soap will help retain your skin’s moisture and provide a healthy glow without the worry of harsh chemicals. Give your skin the love it deserves this winter!
